Sticky Jims’ work is a product of his ongoing investigation into the mechanics of reality juxtaposed with the systems of modern society.

Driven by curiosity and a compulsion to create, Jim focuses on hard-edge geometric abstraction to help explore these ideas, and draws inspiration from Op-art, Minimalism, and the Neo-Geo art movements to aid in his process and delivery.

His use of geometric elements hint toward the mathematical foundations of our reality, whilst the repeating patterns and clashing colours not only echo the vibrational principles of matter, but also highlight the mundane repetition and systemic failings found within our day to day lives.

Buried within the clashing colours and repeating patterns lies the Artists own personal conflict: a battle between his rigid, self-imposed rules and his innate urge to create with unbridled emotion, free of straight lines and masking tape.
